I T I N E R A R Y
SATURDAY, Day 1
Dijon Transfer from Paris via first-class TGV high-speed train (optional: not included), or meet in Dijon and then transfer to Litote moored in the sleepy village of Vandenesse-en-Auxois . Sip champagne as you are welcomed on board and introduced to the crew. (Meanwhile, your luggage is quietly taken to your cabin.) Enjoy your first gourmet dinner on board in the evening.
SUNDAY,
Day 2
Vandenesse-en-Auxois to Pont d’Ouche Begin the day with a morning excursion to the 15 th-century Château de Commarin, still privately owned and occupied by the same family. Continue the short distance to Châteauneuf-en-Auxois, a medieval village with majestic views of the valley and canal below. A sumptuous lunch is followed by a peaceful cruise along the canal this afternoon to Pont d’Ouche.
MONDAY, Day 3
Pont d’Ouche to La Bussière This morning, drive to Meursault, one of Burgundy ’s many famous wine growing ares, for a private cellar visit and wine tasting. Return to Litote in time for a gourmet lunch and afternoon cruise to La Bussière.
TUESDAY,
Day 4
La Bussière to Gissey sur Ouche Tuesday is market day in Dijon , and after a guided visit of the city’s historic center, you are free to explore the delights of this typical French market. Return to Litote for a late lunch and lazy afternoon with cruising to Gissey sur Ouche.
WEDNESDAY, Day 5
Gissey sur Ouche to Fleurey sur Ouche This morning, cruise along the canal to Pont de Pany. After another wonderful lunch, take off for a visit to Beaune, wine capital of Burgundy and home to the magnificent Hôtel-Dieu, a charity hospital founded in 1443. This monument boasts the finest Burgundian-Flemish architecture in the world. Afterwards, return to Litote, moored in the small village of Fleurey sur Ouche.
THURSDAY, Day 6
Fleurey sur Ouche to Dijon This morning cruise towards Dijon , passing alongside Lake Kir as you approach the port of Dijon . In the afternoon, a visit to Clos de Vougeot is in order. Wine was produced here as early as the 12 th-century, by none other than the local monks. A private wine tasting follows before you return to Litote for your farewell gala dinner.
FRIDAY, Day 7
Dijon After breakfast, transfer to the Dijon railroad station. Those taking the optional transfers will board the first-class TGV train back to Paris .
On alternative weeks the cruise is in reverse direction. This itinerary is subject to change.
