I T I N E R A R Y
SATURDAY, Day 1
Paris Meet in the lobby of Hotel Regina at 3pm and transfer by motor coach to the little town of Les Andelys nicely situated in a meander of the Seine River, and next to the famous ruins of the Chateau Gaillard. Champagne welcome aboard and afterwards you are shown to your cabin with time to unpack before dinner this evening at 7:30pm where all crew members are presented and you have your first opportunity to meet your fellow passengers.
SUNDAY,
Day 2
Les Andelys to Rouen This morning, cruise from Les Andelys to Poses, last lock before the tidal part of the Seine River. From Poses you will enjoy a coach excursion to Rouen, the capital of Normandy. Once in Rouen you will have a walking tour of the medieval city center with time for shopping and rejoin the boat moored in Rouen in the late afternoon.
MONDAY, Day 3
Rouen to Vernon After a brunch on board, you will board a coach for an excursion to the charming city of Honfleur, where you will enjoy a walking tour of the harbor and the picturesque streets. Return to the boat going over both the Normandie and Tancarville bridges.
TUESDAY,
Day 4
Vernon to Rueil Malmaison An early start for the short ride to Giverny, home to Claude Monet for over 40 years. You will visit the house and gardens which inspired such masterpieces as "The Water Lillies" and the Japanese Bridge that he painted. This afternoon, you will cruise to Rueil Malmaison, a delightful riverside town.
WEDNESDAY, Day 5
Rueil Malmaison to Paris There is a very short distance to visit la Malmaison, home of Josephine de Beauharnais, the first wife of Napoleon 1st where you can see plenty of memorabilia from this Imperial couple's daily life. You will then stroll through the center of Rueil, an ideal place for shopping with some exclusive boutiques. You will then cruise to Paris, and delight in a memorable evening cruise through illuminated Paris.
THURSDAY, Day 6
Paris to St Mammes Begin your day with a visit to the Chateau Vaux le Vicomte, built by Fouquet, the finance minister of the Sun King and the model for Versailles. There is an exceptionally well furnished interior and magnificent gardens. In the afternoon, cruise to St Mammes, a very short distance from Moret sur Loing, a medieval small town and once home to Alfred Sisley who lived and painted many scenes here. In the evening, enjoy your farewell gala dinner.
FRIDAY, Day 7
St Mammes This morning, after breakfast, drive back to Paris, arriving around lunchtime.
On alternate weeks the itinerary is reversed and the meeting point changed. On alternate weeks meeting point is Saverne Train Station and drop off is at Strasbourg Train Station.
